Westcott Barton is 6 miles directly north of Barnstaple in the parish of Marwood,
famous for Marwood Hill Gardens – a delight at any time of the year. From Barnstaple, take the A39 Lynton
Road, but before leaving the town turn left at the traffic lights opposite
the petrol station. After 150 yards, turn right into Abbey Road. At the next T-junction turn left and follow
this road out into the country. Get through Prixford
and Guineaford towards Ilfracombe.
One mile out of Guineaford, turn left to Patsford and Middle Marwood.
Westcott Barton is the second turning left – about 1 mile along. The farm is
marked on the Ordnance Survey map of North Devon. (OS SS532385)
